After stealing Uncle Sam’s lunch money, schoolyard bully now looks for “ass to kick”.

The school yard bully, also known as the President of the United States, also known as Barack Obama, is at it again. And he wants you to know that he runs this school. If you weren’t already convinced that Barack Obama was the big man on campus after his successful nationalization of General Motors, AIG, the health insurance industry, or the student loan industry, then prepare to be awed. Not satisfied with rash actions, our bully-in-chief is now lowering himself to old school threats, saying (in regards to the BP oil spill) that he wants to know, “whose ass to kick.” And you had better believe that when he finds it, he will kick it.

But make no mistake. In the President’s mind, it’s not BP’s consistent track record of safety violations that is to blame for this oil spill. It’s not the senseless and burdensome government regulation which forces off-shore oil exploration off the coast to depths of 5,000 feet deep. Not even close. In Obama’s mind, this is all your fault. After all you’re the ones who had the audacity to ask for increased offshore oil exploration. You’re the ones who drive “gas-guzzling” SUVs and trucks. It’s you evil citizens, working to provide your family with a quality lifestyle that are to blame. It’s because of you that BP is here in the first place. To Obama, you’re to blame and you’re going to pay the price for it. You’re going to pay higher gas prices when he institutes the moratorium on offshore drilling. You’re going to pay even higher gas prices when he taxes the evil oil companies as a result of this disaster. You’re going to pay the price when “big oil” jobs go to other countries with more hospitable business environments. Barack Obama has already said that, at some point, you have made enough money. And now he is coming for it.

Most bullies have three things in common: unwavering self-assuredness, the ability to coerce compliance through the threat or perceived threat of force, and the complete lack of obedience toward the laws which govern civilized behavior. Make that four things, because every bully typically has an army of “yes men” who follow the bully around yipping for his affirmation like loyal lapdogs. Dear leader exudes these qualities daily, through his continued insistence of interjecting the federal government into every aspect of American life, despite unprecedented public outcry; through his complete disdain for the clear wording of the Constitution, which governs our land; through his deployment of a brigade of loyal lapdog mouthpieces who virulently justify every intrusion and scoff at every dissenter; and finally, through his use of perceived political force to “kick the asses” of any and all who are slowing his agenda down, or merely revealing his incompetence.

Take Barack Obama at his word when he says he needs to know “whose ass to kick”. But don’t be surprised to find out that it’s yours.

Pity we can't siphon off the oil spill into the POTUS' motorcade/AF1. But it would take a spill a week to keep that kinda machinery going. But POTUS is right. Moreorless. We're ALL punch-drunk on an oil-based economy. My car gets 16-MPG city. If I'm lucky. I too thus suck. I am part of the problem. I don't think I'd do so great in a hut with a bicycle though. Not in the heat of a Georgia summer. But who's to say that asking for (mandating?) extreme energy conservation isn't also asking for a better way of life? I'd be a heck of a lot slimmer and healthier riding a bike instead of driving a car, for instance. And thus far less of a healthcare burden on society.

The thought makes me want to go lie down and crank the AC down to 75.

SpaceyG,

You know, I actually agree with this statement to a certain extent. Sure, mandating that people ride bikes and use less A/C during the summer definitely leads to more activity, and in effect a healthier society. But, I don't necessarily equate good health with quality a life. It's definitely a factor for me. I like to be jacked and tan. But I know a lot of people living extremely happy lives who never hit the gym.

But what gets me the most is the issue of force--forcing people onto bikes. The practicality of it, commuting 20 miles into/out of Atlanta via bike, isn't viable. And I'm not sure too many commuters would consider an hour long, sweaty bike right to and from work to be an "improvement" over driving the old car.

I'm not against protecting the environment, but I am against forcing people to suffer unnecessarily to do so. If there was as much demand for lower gas prices and more fuel efficient cars as some claim there is, the market would have provided it sooner.

But, I know this is anecdotal, but I have seen more SMART cars driving around Kennesaw and Marietta in the past 2 weeks than I did in Europe for nearly two months. It looks like fuel efficiency is emerging as a viable option without government forcing anyone toward it. I did just drink two Newcastles though, so if my rant did not make sense, I apologize.

You are right Jace. I remember bullies from the past who always had their helpers around them. When you catch the bully alone they are nothing.
