Health care bounce gone
The post-health care speech bounce for President Barack Obama is over:
Following President Obama’s speech to Congress last week, support for his health care reform plan increased steadily to a peak of 51% yesterday. However, the bounce appears to be over. The latest daily tracking shows that support has fallen all the way back to pre-speech levels. While Rep. Joe Wilson has given Democrats a huge hand over the last week, that isn't going to make up for a really bad bill. I'm less convinced than I was before that this bill won't pass, but Democrats in the House still have to deal with Blue Dogs and "progressives" in their own caucus. That's not going to be easy.Forty-five percent (45%) of all voters nationwide now favor the plan while 52% are opposed. A week ago, 44% supported the proposal and 53% were opposed.

I'm not totally convinced that he's lost the bounce yet.
Rasmussen has his net strong approval / disapproval number at -6 and that's not low enough.
Presidential Tracking Poll
Previously, he was at -11 to -14 and I'd feel if he returns to those numbers he's lost the bounce.
Personally, if he crashed through those numbers to new lows (say -20 or so) it would suit me just fine--we'll see if the ACORN stories have legs and help him get there.
That said, the Baucus press conference hasn't helped him much and if a bill passes it will create a huge backlash but by then it will be too late to stop it.
