Local Second Amendment success story
You probably haven't heard much about this story, despite it coming from Georgia, but a local college student became one of 1.5 million Americans who exercise their Second Amendment right for the purpose of personal protection each year by using a firearm to protect himself and his friends.
Stephen Gordon has the story and wonders why only two stories have been run in this instance about the use of a firearm to prevent a crime.

You will not hear much about this from the news media or legal community as it shows given the means to self protect the main function of the police would be to investigate crimes and issue traffic tickets..
Not that the police are not noble and responsive to situations but they are not always present and not always able to shoot the criminal for fear of a law suit...
I for one am glad this college student had studied gun control 101

Let's understand the nature of news. Peaceful people successfully use firearms in self defense every day, so that's a normal occurance, not what one would call "News". A madman shoots up an elementary school, that hardly ever happens - now that's NEWS.
The "News" therefore offfers only a biased view of life based onwhat is considered unusual or "newsworthy"...small wonder we get a slanted percecption of how guns benefit society.
