Radley Balko says that Congress should stay out of the BCS:

[G]o ahead and loathe the BCS. Excoriate cheaters and frauds. Agitate for better rules, stricter enforcement of existing rules and fairer playoff systems. You have good points. But let's resist the urge to bring the government in to correct every problem we perceive to be afflicting big-time sports. One, their attempts so far have been completely self-serving, but mostly, because the government is run by politicians.
