OK, both sides claim a win.

On two comments early in the debate Biden loaded the gun and Palin refused to shoot. Not enough pit bull. Bush's failed policies caused the financial crisis... Republicans refused oversight. Boy, were those missed opportunities for Palin.

On three or four occassions Palin blamed Wall Street Greed for the predicament the economy is facing. NOT ONCE did she lay out the history of the Fannie & Freddie fiasco - or name names, as she should have done. This proves that bi-partisan, offend nobody methodology that I cannot stand! Absolving Congress and two White House administrations from complicity IS a major part of the nation's problem. Closing ranks helps nobody.

Very good work Larry. The candidates do miss opportunities to nail the other side but the be nice crowd has become something that is lacking in a backbone. The debates of old are a far cry from the debates of today. People want to see each side really go after the other in a debate. Make the opponent stumble through his/her words and try to gain the high ground in the discussion. I have heard Mr. Biden be a rough and hard speaker on the floor of the Senate and in other venues. But he held back tonight as well as Ms. Palin could have attacked Mr. Biden and forced him to show his hand. It was pretty much a draw and now we will have to see how the media talking heads put their take on the debate.
