GA Senate: Martin comes down, Chambliss still under 50%
Mason-Dixon is out with a new poll in the race between Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Jim Martin and Allen Buckley.
Here is how it breaks down:
- Chambliss (R): 45%
- Martin (D): 39%
- Buckley (L): 5%
- Undecided: 11%
Chambliss must get 50%+1 to avoid a December 2nd runoff.

Now there’s a poll I like. The I/A poll cited yesterday over at the AJC’s Political Insider had Allen Buckley at 2% with 8% undecided. I find it amusing that I/A evidently does not have the resources to find out that “Other” has a name and is listed on the ballot as Libertarian Candidate Allen Buckley.
I can’t wait for the Run Off. It’s like Christmas coming twice to Georgia this year. If Rockin’ Barry O pulls off a win, he’ll have millions left over to spread around Georgia in an attempt to get Martin elected and pick up what might be the
Magical Seat # 60. That would give the Democrat controlled Senate amazing super powers like being filibuster proof, veto proof and 90 proof all at the same time.
On the other side of the isle, the Republicans should want to deny the impending Democrat super majority anything like that and would throw whatever support they can muster behind the incumbent, Saxby Chambliss. Increased resources for Saxby’s campaign coupled with the traditional low turn out numbers for democrats in run off races should send that ol’ Porker back to his place at the trough for another 6 years.
All Georgians should be determined to make the runoff happen out of enlightened self interest. When the run off happens, money will rain down on our state from all sorts of places. There will be temporary work available for some of our fellow citizens for important tasks like repetitively posting the same lame comments into local boards and blogs, fabricating fake ID’s to match up with the fake voter registrations, driving people to the polls, distributing walking around money, putting up placards, yard signs etc. as well as tearing down placards, removing yard signs etc.
The coffers of our local media outlets will swell as both sides air a constant barrage of campaign commercials in a desperate attempt to sell their candidate to the public at large. This will keep our local talking heads employed a few weeks longer as Georgia’s economy continues to slide into recession and the unemployment rolls grow. The rental car industry, motel industry and the all important adult entertainment industry would experience real booms as Atlanta would be flooded by the national and international news networks as well as political apparatchik’s intent on getting in on the action.
So if you would like to see all that money and all that attention and focused on our fair state, Vote Allen Buckley for US Senate. It really is that simple. A vote for Allen Buckley is a vote for post election prosperity! Vote Allen Buckley for US Senate!
