GA-Senate: It's a close race...

Survey USA says that Saxby is in trouble:

[I]ncumbent Saxby Chambliss, a Republican, leads Martin, a Democrat, by two points, 46 percent to 44 percent.

Thirteen days ago, Chambliss led the challenger by 17 points, 53 percent to 36 percent. Chambliss lost seven points in the latest polling and Martin picked up eight points.

Because the margin of error for both polls is 3.8 percent, the poll shows that Georgia's U.S. Senate race is effectively tied.

The poll shows Allen Buckley, the Libertarian nominee for US Senate, at 5%. You can view the poll here. The crosstabs are here.

[UPDATE] Here another story on this from 11 Alive. It's not that Jim Martin is out wowing crowds either. Saxby Chambliss is just that bad.

Comments

In a radio news report today, Saxby was quoted as saying he would have voted to approve the bailout bill on Monday. The impresion is that he will vote in favor of whatever comes up on Thursday.

I am not impressed with such blindness.

I was not impressed with his (and Johnny's) proposed tax hike either.

This kind of thing is why Saxby did not get my vote this year! Hell, if I am going to get a Democrat I might as well vote for one.

Saxby Chambliss is an obvious shill for the interests of big/taxpayer subsidized Ag and ain't going to spend two minutes worrying about the interests of the individual Georgian unless you've a pound of sterling to contribute to his campaign coffers.
Vote Libertarian.
We the People have been taken for granted long enough.

I hope the roof don't fall in when I vote for a democrap but I'm like you Larry....if I'm gona get a demo I might as well vote for one....
Don Henderson

Larry, you are correct sir. Saxby is voting with the tide and not for the real purpose and that is to best serve the taxpayers in which he is supposed to represent.
The Doctor

I'm voting for a few Democrats this year.

I have no faith in Libertarians. All talk, no action. They've begun to bore me. I want to vote for Barr, but why? I changed my mind this week.

Don & I agree on Chambliss, if I'm going to get a Democrat I may as well vote for one. Jim Martin vote here.

I'm writing in myself for Congress. Jim Marshall & Goddard are about equal to me, except Goddard want to enforce the rule of law & get rid of the illegals. Otherwise he'll be another Republican sheep.

State senate, Rudy Cox. I'll vote for Obama before I vote for that crooked John Douglas. Or is it too late for him to get his name changed on the ballot? We all know he's confused about his real identity.

State House? I'm writing in an illegal alien against Lunsford since he's friends with John Douglas. What's the saying? "Birds of a feather, flock together"?

I'm going to try to get 20 people to go with me. Wish me luck.

After Saxby's vote on the bailout last night, I cannot in good conscience support his re-election. This bailout bill is out-and-out communism: state ownership of capital and state control of the financial industry. Karl Marx would be proud of the US Senate that just laid down the 5th plank of the Communist Manifesto. Of course, I can't support a socialist Democrat either - so where can I find an Allen Buckley yeard sign?

I have some signs and bumper stickers for Buckley.
