Gas Crisis
USA Today is reporting that our gas supply problems could last two more weeks. Many gas stations around Metro Atlanta are running out as soon as they get gas.
Our governor is in Europe right now and it turns out he procrastinated in getting a waiver from the EPA to ease environmental regulations and he contributed to the problem by pandering and strong-arming gas stations that “gouge” customers, keeping prices artificially low and contributing to the panic.
What can you do voluntarily?
- Do not buy gas when you have half a tank. You do not need gas and you are not going to run out. You only contribute to the madness.
- Take only what you need, do not fill up gas cans.
- Get gas in the early hours of the morning. This is the best way to make sure you have gas.
- Cut back on driving. Limit and consolidate your daily trips if possible.

I think that it is funny that everyone wants to blame Sonny Purdue because Ga doesnt have any gas. We had an enexpected death in our family a week ago Friday. My cousin lives in Nashville Tennessee. She tried from Friday morning to Monday morning trying to find a gas station in TN that had gas so that she could get here. There wasnt any. Do we blame Sonny Purdue for that as well? Also, there is a Marathon (only allowing you to get 10 gallons and a Liberty ($20.00 limit) down near Heron Bay that has gas.

Dee, Dee, Dee, Dee,... *he says shaking head back and forth*
Fault lies with anyone/everyone that imposed price ceilings or price controls on gas. The moment Sonny said that he was not going to let the free market determine the price of gas... gas shortages were predictable and became his fault.

So Daniel, whose fault is it that NC and Tennessee doesnt have any either?

Are gas station owners allowed to sell gas at market price in NC and TN (whoever is not allowing it, it's their fault). If the owners could sale at market price, I guarantee there would be gas there.

The QT, and both Walmart stores have gas in Stockbridge. The BP at Millers Mill Rd and Hwy 138 had gas this morning. The BP on Hwy 42 just south of Hwy 138 had gas this morning.

[W]hose fault is it that NC and Tennessee doesnt have any [gas] either?
Both Phil Bredesen and Mike Easley, of Tennessee and North Carolina, respectively, enacted similar "gas gouging" bills that Perdue enacted shortly after the hurricane.
I tried to embed links into this post but the comments editor ate them. So, just do a search and you'll see news articles detailing how all of these Southern governors are ignorant of economics.
