In picking Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness — inexperience in office and on foreign policy.

The VP does not set foreign policy. The VP does not sit in the oval office to marshal our domestic policy.

It is traditional that a VP is chosen for one purpose: to win debates against the opposing party's VP and make the presidential candidate look good.

That is the real key - making Obama look better than he is.

More than ever before I believe Barry has lost this one by admitting his own weaknesses.

The VP in many cases of the past were chosen to shore up weaknesses that the Presidential candidate lacked. It will be interesting to see who Sen. McCain will pick as his running mate.

If McCain cannot capitalize on the left-wing socialist doctrine of Abama he will surprise me. Since Biden, that elder statesman and expert on all things Progressive, has joined the ticket, the job just got easier.

Obama was not stupid enough to select Hildebeast. He could not pick a no-name.

Obama's socialist agenda is strenghtened by this Senate-trained socialist. Since Barry didnot even complete one term he needs the time-tested wisdom of a veteran.

Sure, W was handed his daddy's executive team. And, yes, he needed it. The difference is in the infrastructure.

Obama's team, his strength, his support is based in victim's of America's immoral capitalism. They are citizens of The Village. They are the God-chosen benefactors of the Public Good.

It is a socialist vs. capitalist election. It is an election of Amerca vs The Court of World Opinion. Not just a black man assuming the role of Savior. Not just an old white man's swan song.

Voters will decide whether America can and should be an independently strong nation, or a cog in the wheel of UN stupidity. The real threats to our interests, our way of life are again gaining definition from both Russia and China. How those challenges will be met cannot be left the appeasers!

This one has already begun. We are war weary. We are fnancially stretched. Socialist doctrine cannot save America any more than it helped Vichy France.

This election now has a defining factor.

Excellent work Larry. Always remember what the Soviet Premier said at the UN back in the early 60's. He said he would take us without firing a shot. His statement was that we as a nation would be changed from within into a nation such as his.

Socialism has gradually worked it's way into our governmental strategies. Russia threatening in the world again. China buying up America every chance it gets. Our nation if nothing is changed will evolve into not the United States of America but the United States of the World.

We are losing the fabric of our identity as Americans to this internal change that will see us continue on a path that will give us a government and nation that we do not know.

I disagree that this is a "socialist v. capitalist" election. McCain is just slightly better than Obama, but he is still a statist.

Both parties are in this race to make sure they can control our economy and to make the policies that are forwarded not only within our nation but to other nations as well.

According to Senator Biden's speech today in Illinois he has come out swinging at Senator McCain. Senator Obama chided in with his jabs at the elder McCain. This is turning into the battle of the Senators.

I'm thinking he chose Biden because he really wants someone with "experience" in his administration...someone who shares his leftist dreams.

I can't see Biden helping the man get elected. Obama doesn't have a platform that would seem to appeal to the masses. What he has is 1) he's a likable guy and 2) he is capable of sappy oratory with "change" and "hope" sprinkled in so it sounds good enough to get the vote of the Oprah crowd. Biden is the antithesis of that...to put it nicely, a putz. Every time Biden speaks, the leftist doctrine is going to spill out for all to see. I don’t think the man has the discipline to hold it in. If I were Obama, I’d hide him in some distant land until after the election.
