Get well soon, Bob Novak
Robert Novak is retiring:
Robert Novak has announced his immediate retirement following the diagnosis of a brain tumor, a prognosis the Sun-Times' political columnist describes as "dire."That is a bummer. The man is an icon regardless of your party or political belief."The details are being worked out with the doctors this week, but the tentative plan is for radiation and chemotherapy," Novak said.

I shook Novak's hand at a 1992 event with Vice President Quayle at Melear's BBQ in Fayetteville. The word 'icon' is certainly accurate. He and Pat Buchanan were the two conservative pioneers on CNN's "Crossfire" and the shows that have followed. One needed to only read Novak's column a few times to see that no one in Washington was better connected as a journalist, regardless of ideology. His work will be missed.
