Georgia Bulldogs open season on Saturday

Georgia football starts on Saturday when the Bulldogs take on Georgia Southern, a game I was planning to purchase on Saturday up until ten minutes ago when Amanda informed me that we would be visiting my father-in-law.

Here is the schuduled as listed at GeorgiaDogs.com. Ranked teams are listed according to the AP Top 25 poll over at ESPN.

8/30 - Georgia Southern (12:30pm on PPV)
9/6 - Central Michigan (3:30 pm on FSN South)
9/13 @ South Carolina (3:30pm on CBS)
9/20 @ #15 Arizona State (8:00pm on ABC)
9/27 - #24 Alabama
10/11 - #18 Tennessee
10/18 - Vanderbilt
10/25 @ #7 LSU
11/1 - #5 Florida
11/8 @ Kentucky
11/15 @ #10 Auburn
11/29 - Georgia Tech

My prediction is an 11-1 record, with the loss coming against Florida. I think we’ll be in the SEC championship game. We could go undefeated and there may be a chance it happens, but we always slip up somewhere along the schedule. I do hope we’ll be playing for a national championship, but I’m trying to be realistic.

I also think Matt Stafford and Knowshon Moreno come back to play another year. The only scenario I don't see Moreno coming back is if he rushes for 1,800+ yards.

I will now sit back and wait for Kyle King to verbally assault me on Dawg Sports.

Something we can almost agree on 12-0 baby...I know this is our year. Anytime you combine a kick as RB, a good QB, good WR, and a strong Defense, with great coaching, and 7 plus arrested players it means NATIONAL CHAMPS...just ask miami and fsu

I am concerned about our WR and OL.

We seem to always have a problem catching passes and that could hurt in big games, which is why I expect us to lose at least one.

I think UGA has a very disappointing year.

All told, including a possible conference championship game and a bowl game, UGA loses four games. The schedule is just too tough.

Is this Doug Craig? I know Doug Craig isn't given his unbiased opinion to us... :-)

Is this Doug Craig?

Nope, different Doug.

W/ the schedule, one loss is probably a given and two is very possible. Having LSU & Florida back to back is just a killer. Auburn, who will be gunning for us big-time, will be a tough game. And let's not forget about Columbia in a few weeks. Those guys always play us so tough over there.

This year would not seem to lend itself to a two-loss team playing in the big game although it helps that Southern Cal and Ohio St. play each other in the regular season. Then again, who could have expected all of the things that occured to get LSU in it last year. You just never know. Certainly,
luck plays a part but you tend to make your own luck in this game. An SEC championship is the goal. Anything else, if it comes, will result from that. Really, all I care about is getting revenge against Tennessee. I was in Knoxville last year and that shit suuuuuuuucked!!!

Personally, I'm just happy as hell thinking about getting back to the old stomping ground come Saturday and enjoying something that I truly hold dear. I know it's just a game but I love it and what it represents. It can take me back to any year somewhere in the 80's and being a kid and going w/ my Mom, Dad & brother to the coolest place on earth, w/out a care in the world, when life was simple and it was all about the Dawgs, and it was good!

GO DAWGS!!!!!!

And to
HELL WITH GEORGIA TECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn!
