Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine has endorsed John Douglas for re-election:

Today State Senator John Douglas proudly announced the endorsement of Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine. Commissioner Oxendine has joined a group of prominent Republican leaders, which includes Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland, Secretary of State Karen Handel and former Congressman Mac Collins who have pledged to support incumbent Senator John Douglas’s reelection effort.

"I have known John Douglas from his days in the House to his current position in the Senate. He is a conservative leader Georgia can depend on. I am proud to endorse John's reelection effort. He has earned the trust of voters and leaders throughout Georgia. I wish him the best and am proud to call him a friend" said Commissioner Oxendine.

Senator John Douglas thanked Commissioner Oxendine for his support and endorsement, saying, "It is an honor to have the support of such a great leader. John Oxendine has worked tirelessly for us; I look forward to continuing to do the same here in Senate District 17. I am honored to have his support in my campaign for reelection."

This is a big endorsement for Senator Douglas.

Dark Knight

What'd you expect Dark Knight?

The question is:

Does Douglas endorse Oxendine for Governor?

The Republican Gubernatorial candidates are going to endorse someone who they think can bring them more votes in 2010. If Douglas were the challenger & Crotts were the favored incumbent, do you think Oxendine would've still endorsed Douglas? I'll answer that for you Dark Knight: No.

So basically, it's not a big deal. Really, how many more votes will Douglas gain with an Oxendine endorsement? Probably zero. This endorsement is Oxendine looking for help in 2010.
