McCain considering windfall profits tax?

It would seem that John McCain is turning into a populist and is considering the windfall profits tax idea himself:

"The point is, oil companies have got to be more participatory in alternate energy, in sharing their profits in a variety of ways, and there is very strong and justifiable emotion about their profits," McCain said.

The issue of oil company profits came up this week in the Senate, where Republicans stopped the Democrats from imposing a tax on windfall profits and taking away billions of dollars in tax breaks in response to the $4-a-gallon price of gas.

In the past McCain has indicated he would consider such a tax proposal, saying he didn't want to see companies making "obscene profits" that distort the market.

Since when did McCain turn into Obama or Tax Hike Mike? All the more reason not to vote for him in November.

It seems Mr. McCain is grasping to find an agenda to follow.

Since when did McCain turn into Obama or Tax Hike Mike?

McCain is not known for 'reaching caross the aisle.' He fumbles, stumbles and crawls to join the liberal caucus!

I agree with The Doctor.

I like Barr but I am afraid by voting for him and not McCain I would be helping Obama??????????

Poor John. He can't seem to remember his party affiliation. If there was ever a man without a party, it is now. Can anyone say John Tyler or Andrew Johnson?

When did McCain turn into Obama??

Apparently you missed it, happened before the Primaries began. What else is "Cap and Trade" but another form of an energy tax? Doesn't matter if you call it "windfall profits" or "cap and trade", McCain has made no secret of his agreement with Obama when it comes to energy taxes and depriving those evil oil companies of their "obscene profits".

It's time for us all to wake up and smell the coffee. I like John McCain, but I'm afraid by voting for him I would just get a pale Obama.
