Cindy Steele-Kilen's Website
Cindy Steele-Kilen has qualified to run for the District 2 commission seat. There have been rumors about her qualifications and whether she had "acceptable" political allegiances.
Now we see the truth: Ms. Steele-Kilen is not competent to hold public office.
No, this is not a personal attack. It is a finding of fact from her own campaign website where she advertises
Tax-deductible donations can be made to The Campaign to Elect Cindy Steele Kilen District 2 Commissioner in the form of cash, check, or credit card. We do not operate for profit.Apparently nobody informed Ms. Steele-Kilen there is a huge difference between a non-profit organization or corporation and a political campaign!! From www.irs.gov:
Political ContributionsOK, folks. You saw it here first. Creative ideas once again come out of District 2. Too bad this time it could cost citizens a real hard time with the IRS.You cannot deduct contributions made to a political candidate, a campaign committee, or a newsletter fund. Advertisements in convention bulletins and admissions to dinners or programs that benefit a political party or political candidate are not deductible.
At least Ms. Steele-Kilen is not an advocate of change. On her Mission page she says:
I am asking for you to give me your vote on July 15th, 2008 to bring a new face to the old ways of doing things. If you like "the old way of doing things" in District 2, she may be your candidate.
Just for grins
I checked the State Ethics Commission website. I could find no online filing for Candidates for Public Office or Candidate Committees who register and file statements with the State Ethics Commission naming Ms. Steele-Kilen. Nor was there an online filing for a declaration of intention to accept campaign contributions.UH-OH!!BTW her opponent, Mr. Richard M. Jeffares Jr., has filed with the Ethics Commission. Funny thing, but all the Henry County candidates I searched for have registered except Ms. Steele-Kilen.
Comments
That is just idiotic. This person thinks she is capable of helping "run" the county? She would be very dangerous on multiple levels.

Somebody posted a while back tht Cindy is BJ's chosen heir.

How many times in a row can she use the word "I" to start a sentence? That mission statement was awful.
She's got a B.A. in Radio & Television Journalism? Where'd she learn to write like that, the University of Georgia?

If one like to use "I" she'd fit right in with certain elected officials.

She actually learned to write in McDonough. But her
writing skills were questioned then and now.
