Anti-gun lobby expects to lose DC gun case
The nation's leading gun control group filed a "friend of the court" brief back in January defending the gun ban in Washington, D.C. But with the Supreme Court poised to hand down a potentially landmark decision in the case, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence fully expects to lose. The public has believed it was an individual right for years and they are only getting the message now?"We've lost the battle on what the Second Amendment means," campaign president Paul Helmke told ABC News. "Seventy-five percent of the public thinks it's an individual right. Why are we arguing a theory anymore? We are concerned about what we can do practically."

Reformed Drunks, Preachers and a few other categories I can name are among the worst to set public policy. Once some folks get onto a single-threaded mentality there is no way to make them see the dangers of their positions.
"Do as I would have you do" is wrong. "Do as I do" is uqually wrong. The only rationale rules are those individuals make for themselves, and those rules are only valid if they can apply equally to everyone.
Sure, IF everyone in the world were sane and there was no threat of criminal activity then there would be no argument over guns... or would there be?
That picky little document we adopted 200+ years ago just won't go away. Acknowledging that "Seventy-five percent of the public thinks it's an individual right" simply mean a vast majority of folks WANT to exercize the liberties our Founding Fathers considered as God-given.
What a shame to have ever allowed small factions of politically correct fringe to command such dominance in the public discourse!
