You're Fired...again
Word on the street is that Gerry Adams was fired today by Henry County. If you remember, ex-commissioner Adams was hired by Henry County earlier this year as Special Events Coordinator for the Parks and Recreation Department.

I'm surprised one politically connected was actually gotten rid of so quickly. They should have actually left the position open for a while when advertising it.

I told you he couldn't manage his way out of a wet paper bag. His organizational skills were seriously lacking and even though he was politically connected it didn't take long for them to see there was a problem.

Speaking of ex-commissioners working for the county. Will BJ go back to her old job if she doesn't win Chairman? Just a thought

Been out of town for a while. Maybe this Adams and Mathis can start an interpretive group for former commissioners who spent more than they should have.

There's more to come with Mr. Adams!!!

True Dark Knight, there are several. Ruining citizen's lives, property, etc.

Well, today we called 143 registered voters in Henry County. We got 53 live voices. We asked three questions:
1.) If the election were held today for Henry County Commissioner Chairperson, who would you vote for?
Here are the results:
Fred Auletta- 11
Charles Mobley - 10
Jimmy Joyner - 7
B. J. Mathis - 3
Undecided - 22
2.) If the election for Henry County Tax Commissioner were held today, who would you vote for?
Tommy Smith -27
David Curry -11
Undecided - 15
3. What is the most important issue to you in Henry County?
Economy -(Jobs and gas prices) - 33
Traffic - 11
Taxes - 5
Undecided -4
Kinda interesting, don't you think?

Fred: sells himself as the CEO of the County. That is great he has lived her 11 years and now wants to get involved. He talks about Bennett Trucking...well what has he done before Bennett. Anyone that only wants to talk about an 11 year span of there life is hope somethings isnt found. What is he trying to hide? A love child? business failure? bankruptcy? A nasty divorce or two? Enron? Worldcom?
Mobley: as far as I can tell he has been involved in the Community for a while. Is that a good or bad thing? I am not sure, but from his press release I got this week it is a positive. His release said that he was in Washingon DC last week working to get money for transportation projects. If he can follow through he has my vote. The jury is still out on Mr. Mobley
BJ: Well I am sure we can find some more park space for her to buy. I know I may have been tough on ole Fred earlier, but at least Fred has a Business background. BJ seems to come straight from the home school network. He and her good buddy states right RAY MCBERRY. If she is elected I wonder if we are going to leave the Union.
Jim: I think he is just looking to make some money of some new county contracts. Fred or Mobley which ever is elected please give jim a county contract or two so he will be happy.

Mobley is just as much a insider as Jim was. He has ran before and lost. He is on the zone board was a member of the water authority and is a Bush loving republican. Does anyone think that is what this county needs? Fred has real world experince the county could use. Who cares what his past has, he has been sucessfull here.
BJ also has real experince as a Commissioner.
Mobley has experince as a County GOP Chairman and will only be a stool pigeon to the Powers that be.
Jim has show proven leadership before. I think this is a two man race between fred and jim. BJ and Mobley can fight for third.

GOP voter said (three times), "Fred: sells himself as the CEO of the County. That is great he has lived her 11 years and now wants to get involved. Are you kidding me? Rather than doing a bit of research on Fred Auletta, you prefer to jump to ludicrous assumptions. Fred's business background and experience is exactly what this county needs. In my brief conversation with him at a local gathering, it's clear he has a solid grasp on how best to deal with the issues facing Henry County.
If you attend any local event, you will find Fred. If you want to know about him and where he stands, ask him. He makes himself available. But, resorting to an amateur, James Carville-style whisper campaign is weak and clearly shows your inability to do proper research.

GOP voter - Did you personally sign up with Mobley's campaign to receive his 'Press Releases'?
Posted by: joe.politico | May 11, 2008 03:23 PM
There are three races that will set the spending for Henry County and those are the district I II III commissioner seats. If you will only watch or attend the commission meeting you will see that most of the votes are made by the commissioners and not the chairman of the commissioners. Much like the 40 thousand dollar expenditure from the commission contingency fund which sounds much like a commission slush fund or one of those "we can spend it anyway we want to and don't have to ask you" funds. Oh that was to build or enhance a television studio that Jason Harper told me while holding a meeting at one of the local schools that it was going to cost the county no more than 12 thousand to completely enable the board to broadcast the commission meetings. LOL I was born at night but not last night.
In any event I would really appreciate it if the commissioners would lower the spending of tax money so I could have my own contingent fund. You know one of those funds where I could actually spend some money that didn't already belong to someone else.
I honestly don't know how much more money I can afford for the county to save me because of anticipated increased cost of stuff in the future.
How long before the revolt. But then why do I get upset most of this money is not real money its SPLOST and we all know that isn't real money its kinda like FEDERAL or STATE money and we all know that isn't our money.

"GOP voter - Did you personally sign up with Mobley's campaign to receive his 'Press Releases'? "
Joe, I didn't. Funny how I still managed to get them even without signing up. Wonder how that could have happened?

Isn't it strange how the poll speaks for itself. I know that it is a very small sampling but I have been talking with several key people in Henry politics and the poll relects their opinion.

Stat Boy,
Please continue to track your data. And please continue to inform us of your findings. Even though it is only a poll, I agree with the Doc. It is what I have been hearing also.
I think what is significant in the chairperson's race is the number of "undecided" voters. It tells me that any of the top four could win.

joe.politico,
"GOP voter - Did you personally sign up with Mobley's campaign to receive his 'Press Releases'?"
I too got Mobley's press release. When I questioned how they got my email address, the response was
"...the campaign has been building it's e-mail list for a number of months now through the campaign website, sign up sheets at local community events, and thorough door 2 door canvasing efforts. I can not specifically say how we have received your individual email address but the before mentioned methods are how we have been collecting all of our contact data.""
When I responded that none of those applied to me, and asked if they had gotten my email address through an FOIA request concerning subscribers to the Henry County Newsletter, I got no response.
Your question implies that you might understand.

Are we on this again?
Look, Mobley is the former chairman of the Henry County Republican Party, if you've ever signed up for any Henry GOP mailing list then it is very likely that is the reason you are on his mailing list. I get the press releases twice because they are sent to my e-mail address here and my old Yahoo account, which is the account I used to sign up for Henry GOP updates a few years ago.
I can't say that for sure, I could be wrong, but let's not go and rehash this again just because "Jamie" wants to be an asshole (by the way, I know who you are).
Posted by: Jason | May 12, 2008 05:29 PM
Jason,
Why is the 'e-mail fiasco' a rehash? I can understand the hesitancy of this site to let it be discussed if it is true, but if it is false, why not just let us chat about it. Doc and Terry carry on personal conversations within posts and nothing is said. At least this topic is pertinent to Henry County citizens.
Joe,
You said you didn't give your name "through the [Mobley]campaign website, sign up sheets at local community events, or through door 2 door canvasing efforts" by Mobley.
Did you sign up for any Henry GOP mailing lists as Jason suggested?
Did you sign up for the Henry County Update?
None of Mobley's mentioned outlets apply to me nor does Jason's suggestion of the Henry GOP mailing list. That only leaves the Henry County Update (it also applies to my wife, her sister and my mother).
My question is this, "As a long-time friend of Mobley, did Larry give/sell the Update e-mail list to aid Mobley's campaign?"
From where I sit, this is the only logical conclusion.
Also, the fact that this question can't be asked or discussed here without someone being accused of having an agenda or being deleted, is evidence enough for me to the positive.
Why can't I just be an outraged 'average joe' trying to figure out why my County given e-mail was taken under the guise of 'public record' for the 'profit' of someone else by an individual who usually decries such unscrupulous behavior?
Posted by: joe.politico | May 12, 2008 10:11 PM
I will respond. I have the 1200 email addresses provided by the county through a FOIA request some months ago.
Not one time has that list been used by anyone including myself. I have not provided it to any person or to any organization or campaign.
By whatever means email addresses may be acquired, they are available from any source to which it has ever been provided.
Let's not revisit the accusations and meaningless searching for a nonexistent conspiracy. Anyone may voice outrage or dissatisfaction over the legal FOIA request. But please be mindful of the massive amounts of information that is publicly available -- and do not think that government employees, politicians and political insiders cannot gain access without an official request.
I used the front door in a very public manner. Why not explore the back doors through which campaign information is gathered? Does anyone believe that Mathis is not using her position to further her campaign?
Posted by: Larry Stanley | May 12, 2008 10:51 PM
You are correct Professor
with the number of undecided
in the mix any of the top four could get the chairmanship. It will be interesting to see future polls to get a feel for how many are still undecided.
Then we might have a better view of where this primary is going. I hope everyone who has a chance will do research on each candidate and get a feel for who they think will do the best job and will serve in the best interest of the people of Henry County.

All anyone has to do is take a look at the Henry County website and find that it is slanted toward her campaign using Nash Farm. Also Joe Politico,
Terry and my conversations might teach a little compassion and intelligence to some who listen about how to address and treat one another. We don't see eye to eye on everything but we can disucss subjects in a civil manner and come to some conclusions with common ground. Hopefully some will learn this lesson.
Oh and by the way if you don't like getting a message on your computer does it not have a delete button?

"By whatever means email addresses may be acquired, they are available from any source to which it has ever been provided."
This statement may pacify others who freely give out their e-mails without concern, but as someone who created a 'one-time' e-mail in order to subscribe to the Henry County Update, I call your bluff.
I have learned from business dealings that e-mail submissions are THE BEST WAY of tracking. The County would not have freely given my e-mail away unless by 'mandate'. Which points to your FOIA request.
The fact that this conversation has made you guys uneasy is telling. A questionable act from Larry leads to long-time friend Mobley. If Mobley 'profits' directly from such questionable use of FOIA, what can we expect from him as Chairman?
Thanks Larry for your response. But we will have to agree to disagree. The points have been made. The readers can make up their own mind.
Larry stated, "Let's not revisit the accusations and meaningless searching for a nonexistent conspiracy."
Has such a statement from a public official ever stopped you? Truth is not a conspiracy.
