Mental health issues are all but ignored in the black community. The basics of daily survival and inherited "taboos" work to conceal a real problem. As a former member of a mental health facility's board of directors in Indiana, I can attest to the "don't tell, don't ask" attitude I describe.

I don't think this is a mental health issue, & I don't think this is an issue of skin color either. It's an issue of an individual having a lack of control, a lack of character, & making poor judgments with those shortcomings.

What's she going to get, a fine? Being arrested & prosecuted will only increase her hatred toward whatever it is that drives her. Hopefully I'm wrong.
