Alcohol sales relaxed during GOP convention

The Minnesota legislature has passed measures that would relax alcohol sales during the GOP convention:

The Minnesota legislature has passed HF 3986 and SF 3642, identical bills that say, “During the 2008 Republican National Convention, holders of an on-sale liquor license may remain open and may serve alcohol until 4 a.m. each day.” The Republican National Convention is in Minneapolis and St. Paul this year. The bill only applies to that part of the state, and is repealed effective September 8. The normal bar-closing hour in Minnesota is 2 a.m.
That should make Sonny Perdue happy.

This is a bill that is necessary in order for the political leadership to function..... You don't honestly think they could screw up the nations political system sober do you?
In addition this does give them a plausible excuse for the political stupidity that we taxpayers are having to fund.

OOPS. Hit post instead of Preview.

This is a prime example of how our government is manipulated by big business it is just on a local level in this case. I would,if a purveyor of spirits anywhere in Minnesota, sell until 4 am and when arrested hope I got an all Democratic prosecutor judge and jury and when found guilty have my conviction overturned by a Republican judge on the grounds of political discrimination ..... or you could use the Clinton defense of "it all depends on what your definition of serves is, all I did was set a drink on the bar and these people took them. I did not have service with those drunks "Or you could always try the "I sold my watch so I could pay my tax and I didn't know what time it was".... In all seriousness this is nothing more than the bar lobbyist telling a state government that" if you want our money come election time you better do what we want."
Use common sense and logic people.... It is O.K to sell booze until 4 am instead of the usual 2 am just because we know the market is going to be really good due the leadership of America coming to our area. The smart move for America would be for the government to suspend alcohol sales during the conventions thus forcing these policy makers to actually think while sober. But then again that to is a scary thought.
I mean is there a more clear example of situational ethics. Just remember it ain't about me and you it is about "who is going to finance our next bid for office"
No America isn't going green it always has been. Where do you think the term "Green with envy" came from? Is it any wonder Jessie moved to Mexico? And I finally understand how he was elected governor in the first place. Its no wonder the favorite color of most politicians is greed oops green.
