Liberal Fascism.

I am loving Jonah Goldberg's new book.

Fascism doesn't need to raise it's ugly head again. But it is out there and racism is their creed.

Not necessarily. This is one of the points of Goldberg's book. Fascism shouldn't have the defintion that most people place on it today.

We would consider both Hitler's Germany and Mussolini's Italy "fascist", yet Germany slaughtered its Jews while Italy did not (as least not until the end).

Goldberg's point is that fascism is a collective ideology, just like communism, but instead of "workers of the world, unite" it's "workers of the nation, unite." And this nationalism is not uniform across all countries; it will instead take on the flavor of whatever nation it's practiced in. In Germany, it was all about the "volk." In Italy, the national culture was much more inclusive, and thus Jews were welcomed into the group as long as they believed whatever everyone else believed.

I have not read Goldberg's book. Sounds like a good read, though.

The concepts of culture and culture wars seems appropriate here.

The culture that America's socialist leaders promote is not unlike Mussolini's Italy.

So long as there is a strong central government, the will of the people is moot. So long as power is concentrated and held by those who would sacrifice any and all institutions, values and history in the name of the collective, the "culture" could be managed.

I have no problem with affixing a facist symbol to either Obama or Clinton for those reasons. Socialism can be an effective marketing tool for the onset of facism.

Racism has no real meaning in this culture war. Whether black, white, Jew, Muslim... power is the goal and socialism is the weapon.

The most damning commentary is the number of Americans who desire to be sheep, whose principles are sold to the highest bidder.

If we must discuss slavery, the weak minded among us are like slaves of old. They want to be fed, clothed and housed. In turn they will express fealty to the provider. They cannot or will not see the hook beneath the bait. Is that really different from the Democrat strategy?

I understand Doug. But what if they did not believe?

You are correct Larry. Most people being led to the premise do not understand that there is a hook and that hook runs deep. Folks should read the old book called "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." It gives a better understanding of who and what these people were. Danger lurks in every shadow especially when people are being led by the nose to a platform that will lead them down a road of destruction.
