Two Gentlemen who are doing their best to make sure Republicans lose in 2008.

Today, the voices of average Americans are being drowned out by lobbyists and special interests. The result: policies that are threatening to destroy the American Dream – higher property taxes and out-of-control government spending, job-killing regulations, and endless red-tape.
Hm. Rising property taxes at a time when property values are dwindling; Out of control government spending, at a time when the economy is headed full-tilt for a recession, according to anyone with a shred of credibility. It seems that Republicans in power are doing everything they can to ensure that Republicans lose in 2008!
We should not place the blame for Republicans losing on people like Bob Barr. We all know that the Libertarian Party pulls statistically insignificant numbers in national elections (sorry if that hurts any feelings, but hey, such is the truth), so if a Republican loses, he probably has his own policies to thank for the loss, not honest detractors such as former Congressman Barr. The Republican leadership has yet to respond to the fair and well considered criticisms that Barr leveled at them when he resigned from the party some years ago; those criticisms are no less valid today, and Barr has every right to defy a party which he (and many other thinking individuals) believes has abandoned its principles and become indistinguishable from the opposition party.
