Condi for Vice-President?
According to ABC, Condoleeza Rice wants to be on the ticket:
ABCNews’ Mary Bruce Reports: Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is actively courting the vice presidential nomination, Republican strategist Dan Senor said.I'm not sure that McCain would want to have that kind of a tie to the Bush Administration as part of his ticket. It could potentially be a drag to the ticket in an already Democratic year.“Condi Rice has been actively, actually in recent weeks, campaigning for this,” Senor said this morning on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”
According to Senor, Rice has been cozying up to the Republican elite.
“There's this ritual in Washington: The Americans for Tax Reform, which is headed by Grover Norquist, he holds a weekly meeting of conservative leaders -- about 100, 150 people, sort of inside, chattering, class types,” Senor said. “They all typically get briefings from political conservative leaders. Ten days ago, they had an interesting visit -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice -- the first time a secretary of state has visited the Wednesday meeting.”

Within 24 hours of 9/11, Her ass should have been fired. Condi's fate should have been the same as "Hell of a Job, Browny." Incompetence gets rewarded all the time in the Federal Government. But when 3000 die and your Job title makes you the ultimate one responsible. Losing your job should be a given ( and not by promotion either).

Condi might be a good choice if Clinton is the nominee. It might help solidify that 20% of Obama supporters who claim to support McCain if Hillary get the nod.
That said - I agree. The one hope I have about McCain is that he is the anti-bush. Opposes earmarks, opposes tax-cuts that don't include spending cuts, opposes expanding entitlement programs, opposes Rumsfeld's do-it-on-the-cheap war making, etc.
McCain still has many of the issues I don't like about Bush - ie Government can be great if conservatives run government. He's not going to be a small government conservative, but he'll be a hell of a lot better than the theocratic-socialist and his illiterate bob-jones wannabes we have in there now.

How dare you refer to the Sec. of State as browny. What kind of ignorrant libertian piece of crap are you. Even if you don't like her politics don't use race. That just shows how stupid you are. Go McCain/Rice!!!!

I believe Mr. Adam's post is referring to the former Director of FEMA, Michael Brown.

Perhaps he should have clarified the comment, but Marty is right, Daniel is referring to Michael Brown.

That just shows how stupid you are.
Charlie,
Before you call someone else "stupid", learn to read.
I used the word as, meaning I was comparing Condi to someone else. And, if you have a problem with the phrase I used with the word "Browny" in it, take it up with your beloved President Bush, I was quoting him (didn't you notice the quotation marks).
ps. I noticed you didn't address the main point of my comment, Condi Rice's incompetence. Here, have your race card back. Maybe next time you'll use it more appropriately.

Condi Rice is of the Colin Powell faction within the Bush Administration, rather than the Cheney/Rumsfeld faction. This is why her ties to the administration won't hurt her. McCain will win in a landslide with or without Rice, but Rice would be a plus. The two reasons McCain is going to win in a landslide: Jeremiah God damn America! Wright and Barack I can't disown my pastor any more than I can disown my grandmother Obama. I rest my case.

Daniel, how exactly is Rice to blame for 9/11? (This is an honest question, not necessarily a challenge. I'm honestly interested in exactly how you will respond.)

I did not say I "blame" Condi for 9/11, I said she was and should have been held "responsible." Because she failed to do her job.

Don't worry though, I fully understand that accountability is a foreign concept to this administration and most that blindly support it. But I will throw a bone to the Condi Rice fanatics. Until McCain makes his decision on a running mate I'll have no more negative comments about her. I really do hope he picks her.
