Barr on Hannity & Colmes

Here is video of Bob Barr on Hannity & Colmes:

Hannity once again comes across as hostile. Barr handled it well and put Hannity in his place.

Can't wait til America gets to see Bob Barr, McCain and Obama on stage together. America will see Bob Barr is in it for them and not for BIG GOVERNMENT.
Nanny State v. Liberty.
The r3VOLution continues.

I support Barr, but if he wants to advance the cause of liberty by educating the electorate, then he must start doing a better job of explaining what Libertarianism is all about.

Since Hannity and company will repeatedly try to marginalize Libertarians
by harping on the drug issue, I believe that Barr should tackle it head on. Indeed, why NOT legalize heroine and crack? Any place that such a responsible public debate would take us could only help define individualist thinking.

I've been been an LP member for 15 years, and I'm just exhausted over the waste of energy and resources that has been our bashing-our-heads-against-a-brick-wall regarding the drug issue. You're not going to be taken seriously in a debate advocating legalized heroin and crack.

You CAN, however, be taken seriously advocating for the matter to be a states' rights issue... in terms such as, "If those guys out in California want to try medicinal marijuana, what business is it of us out here on the other side of the country?" Then, when medicinal marijuana ends up NOT causing the west coast to fall into the ocean, you can have a serious push for generally legal marijuana in liberal states. Then, when THAT doesn't cause the end of the world, you can push the argument further. However, arguing for nationwide legalization of heroin and crack tomorrow morning just makes you sound like a nut in the eyes of 90% of the American public. Sorry, but that's true.

Pragmatism and incrementalism on an issue does NOT make you less libertarian. If anything, it makes you more libertarian... because you not only retain the long-term vision, but employ the only short-term strategy that can realize that vision.
