Predictions: 2008
Since Erick did it, I figured I'd take my shot at some predictions for next year...
- Republicans in the Georgia General Assembly lose at least two House seats and one Senate seat.
- A draft movement will be started to urge to urge Johnny Isakson for Governor. However, a formal announcement from Isakson won't take place until 2009.
- The GlennTax is shot down in whatever form it is presented. No real tax reform will be implemented in 2008.
- Georgians still won't be able to purchase alcohol on Sunday.
- Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee for President. Bill Richardson will be her running mate.
- I'm going on a limb to say that Mitt Romney will be the Republican nominee. Mike Huckabee will be his running mate.
- I'll vote Libertarian in 2008.
- Victor Hill will win re-election in a tough primary for Sheriff of Clayton County.
- Vernon Jones will lose in the Democratic primary against Hank Johnson.
- John Linder will easily beat his anti-free trade primary challenger.
- Tom Price will also knock off his primary challenger.
- Jim Marshall will beat Rick Goddard.
- John Barrow will win re-election.
- Paul Broun will lose to Barry Fleming in the Republican primary.
- Saxby Chambliss will easily win re-election against Dale Cardwell.
- Republicans will lose no more than five or six seats in the US House and no less than five seats in the Senate (Kentucky, Virginia, Colorado, New Mexico and Minnesota).

Briefly coming out of retirement during a fit of goodwill on the Mississippi Gulf coast en route to the Sugar Bowl;
Congrats on logical and very close prediction. The only disagreements I have are:
There is no Republican GA Senate seat in real danger from the Democrats. If anything we get the seat JB Powell currently has in east GA. But more likely, we maintain 34 seats.
In the House, one seat in serious jeopardy is the 95th in south Gwinnett, north Rockdale and Newton. The demographic change makes it very tough for the GOP. Hard work will retain it, but only very hard work and $$$.
I think losing 5 US Senate seats is too much, likely 3. The question is as the Democrats get closer to 60, do we really want them having an absolute free reign there? I believe KY and MN remain GOP.
Rick Goddard is working hard to beat Jim Marshall in the 8th Congressional district. We hope he can pull it off.
Otherwise the remainder of your predictions are within the window of possibility.
Happy New Year.

Depends on the President. With Bush, yes. With Huckabee, please. With anyone else, not really.

Oh yeah, and Mike Jacobs loses his House seat. I think this will be the year Marshall finally gets defeated.

I hope Victor Hill gets his ass kicked. Dumbass got his department a TANK. A TANK! It can't even be driven on the road! Ever seen him stand next to his "bodyguard", it makes him look like a midget. Oh yeah, he is.
Also, Henry is going to have its very own Victor Hill running for Sheriff. It is going to be important for everyone to band together after the primary to beat the guy in the general. Mark My Words.

Who?

I agree with most. However, I disagree on a couple. Obama will be Hillary's running mate(due to the driver license misstep and Obama's money) and Broun will keep his seat in a squeaker. Add ons, Bloomberg runs and if Paul doesn't get at least third in Iowa, he runs and wins as either an Independant or Libertarian.
(Ok, that last one is more of a wish than a prediction)

Well, I have to agree with you on the Sunday alcohol prediction. It won't happen during my lifetime I beieve. Looking on the positive side, if I could buy it on Sunday what would I do on Saturday?
