No day of rememberence for Kucinich
Regardless as to how you might feel about America's foreign policy over the last few years, you can't help but think of the families who had their lives shattered on September 11, 2001...unless your name is Dennis Kucinich:
Cleveland Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich was the only member of Congress on Monday night to vote against a symbolic resolution to recognize September 11 as a day of rememberance, extend sympathies to those who lost their lives and their families and honor emergency workers and the U.S. armed forces. What a complete lack of class.Kucinich issued a press release before the vote, criticizing the resolution as "incomplete," and saying that Congress needs to "wake up to the truth and exercise its obligation under the Constitution to save our nation from being destroyed from the lies that took us into Iraq, the lies that keep us there, the lies that are being used to set the stage for war against Iran and the lies that have undermined our basic civil liberties here at home."

This piece of human garbage should "wake up to the truth" that America stands for nothing if not for Americans. Yes, "Congress should exercise its obligation under the Constitution to save our nation from" all enemies foreign and domestic.
AS I posted elsewhere: Their lives, and the hundreds before and after, must not be pushed aside, nor their deaths dishonored.
When we cannot depend on members of Congress to provide at least the appearance of dignity and honor, it is clear the war on terror must be waged without these liberals - and perhaps equally against them.

I have no words for this "piece of human garbage". My heart aches, no SCREAMS for justice. This is not a man, but a beast of horrid prospect.

Admittedly, this guy is an extreme case. But if you take five minutes to listen to what happened in the Congressional testimony of Gen Paetreaus, you will agree that he didnt report to Congress, rather Congress crapped on him every second he was in front of them. This was nothing more than a pitiful carnival of "we cant get to Bush but we can get to you in front of cameras" and the Defeatists made the best of it. I have never seen any thing like it. An orgy of sky is falling, lets surrender tomorrow comments from representatives and Senators somebody sent to DC. Totally and completely disgusting.

What a complete lack of class.
I couldn't agree more.
On another, somewhat related note, Senator Douglas dropped by the Hampton City Council meeting tonight. We don't agree on everything, but it was nice to have him there tonight, given the significance of the day and his main committee assignment.

Joshua:
Thanks for the compliment. I am there most every month just to say hello and take any questions that might come my way. I usually make all of the city council meetings in my district during the course of the month.
Next time you are in Hampton at their meeting, introduce yourself. I would like to meet you.
