Bush gets his way at the economy's expense
Another Bush betrayal:
In grudging concessions to President Bush, Democrats intend to draft an Iraq war-funding bill without a timeline for the withdrawal of U.S. troops and shorn of billions of dollars in spending on domestic programs, officials said Monday.A minimum wage increase that will likely lead to a cut in jobs and further slow down our increasingly vulnerable economy in exchange for no timeline in Iraq, another economic abortion. Bush's re-election has been one of the worst things to happen to this country since Jimmy Carter was in office. The legislation would include the first federal minimum wage increase in more than a decade, a top priority for the Democrats who took control of Congress in January, the officials added. Bush is amenable to accepting an increase in the minimum wage, although he and key GOP lawmakers favor larger tax cuts to accompany the measure.

It was funny to hear Jimmy Carter call Bush one of the worst Presidents in U.S. History. Both sad, and ironic. Sad in that Carter is right. Ironic in that Carter was definitely no better.
But I still stand by what I said a few months ago. Bush is THE worst President in U.S. History.

The one thing Bush has done right is appoint great federal judges. I am hard pressed to think of anything else he has done right. While Jimmah was the worst President of my lifetime.....except maybe Johnson with Clinton close behind, Bush is by far the worst GOP President, far worse than even his father who brought us No Child Gets Ahead and lies on tax increases. Even a do nothing Gerald Ford over shadows GW Bush.
