Quote of the Day
Who said the following?:
Every dollar released from taxation that is spent or invested will help create a new job and a new salary. And these new jobs and new salaries can create other jobs and other salaries and more customers and more growth for an expanding American economy. If you said Reagan or another supply-side Republican...then you're wrong.

JFK?

I used to be a huge Ayn Rand fan as a kid, although as I get older and broaden my reading she has lost a lot of her luster (trying to learn about real philosophy by reading Ayn Rand is like trying to explore Judism by reading the New Testament).
However, if you ever get your hands on a copy, you should read "The Ayn Rand Column"... a book collecting all the weekly political columns Rand wrote for the Los Angeles Times. Rand wrote her column during the years Kennedy was in office, and she was just BRUTAL towards him. Let's just say that this pro-taxcut quote Jason has posted was very much out of character for the rest of JFK's Presidency. In this day and age, when we're prone to calling politicians "socialists" for favoring a minimum wage hike, it's helpful to do some reading from back when the country was openly drifting toward the real thing!

(...as opposed to surreptitiously and hypocritically drifting toward it, passing trillion-dollar entitlement expansions while calling ourselves conservative and anti-socialism)

Rand hated JFK.
