SB 13 dies in committee

I'm happy to report that Senate Bill 13 failed to make it out of committee yesterday, thanks in part to State Senator Ralph Hudgens, who as chairman of the Senate Labor and Insurance Committee, cast a vote to kill it.

The legislation would have raised the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, which there is virtually no need to do since Congress has passed a minimum wage law that the state will have to abide by. So much for federalism.
