24 is propaganda?
Keith Olbermann is attacking the series premiere of 24 as "propaganda" and "a program length commercial for one political party.” He denounced the use of a nuclear bomb during the shows as a "fear tactic." You can watch the video over at Hot Air.
I thought it was pretty damn good television.
Does this mean that the Fairness Doctrine that Dennis Kucinich is trying to bring back would or should apply to 24?
[UPDATE] Then again maybe I'm wrong. Here is an event archive from a 24 forum organized by the Heritage Foundation and hosted by Rush Limbaugh. Don't forget to check out the incriminating photo of Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Rush getting their smooch on before the event started.

I have to admit that it has always seemed like cross marketing to me that the same company that runs Fox News, which virtually everyone can at least agree tends to lean to the right and is geared towards those with whom national security and terrorism are higher priorities, has a key show focused on how we are always on the brink of nuclear annihilation. Just sayin'.

I love how liberal nut-jobs try and find conservative bias in everything News Corp does. IIRC Murdoch is on the record thinking Bush is a manical war-monger (or something like that).
I think all the "This justifies locking up anyone who prays towards Mecca" plot themes and the villanry of the guy from Allie McBeal plays towards the anti-patriot act, anti-wiretapping left.
Of course Oberman is a pundit and a pundit without a strong opinion is out of a job.

Up until this point, I've loved Olberman's rants. But I tend to leave the party when liberals feel we can't discern reality from make-believe without help from their more-better insights into our culture.
The torment of Jack Bauer's soul is very compelling stuff, even for a radical feminist fence sitter type. And heck, Sam Nunn's always going off about the reality of nuclear annihilation, not just the pretend stuff. (Nunn's still considered a liberal, right?)

That's kind of my point, Spacey. It's tv!
And I always thought Nunn to be a moderate.
