Bulldogs running back may go pro?
That's the rumor according to the AJC...Danny Ware may enter the NFL draft and pass on his senior season.
He is an unproven running back, in terms of his health. He hasn't been the feature back in the offense. He started out well in his freshman season, but was overshadowed by Thomas Brown.
This year Kregg Lumpkin got the vast majority of the carries after Brown went down with an ACL tear.
If Ware comes back, he'll have to fight for playing time with Brown and Lumpkin as well as a few redshirts. Turning pro may be his best option, but does anyone think he'll have a career? I don't see him being more than a third string running back.

He probably won't stick to a roster for long, but like you said, this may be his best chance. Odds are that he will see even less playing time next year. This may be a good thing for all parties, as having a crowded backfield could cause problems. Richt can't keep everyone happy.

Willie Parker didn't play much at UNC, but has turned out to be a great NFL back with the Steelers. Terrell Davis is another guy who didn't star in college but had a great NFL career.
The odds would be against Ware to succeed, but anything is possible I suppose.

When Davis was healthy, he was the feature back. Ware hasn't started much at all.
