Georgia's Congressional Democrats who voted against the short term earmark bill that we've been discussing. Congressman Kingston (R) gets somewhat of a pass because I am partially sold that he actually does want to see a more substantive and longer lasting bill take hold. The Democrats, though, do not seem to have any sort of collective excuse on this one. You can't be surprised that they voted against it, because the lack of transparency can be used to their favor and, perhaps as important, the Republicans can claim victory on this one. Still, those are awful petty reasons to vote against this bill.

I nominate former President Bill Clinton and his entire administration for pressuring ABC to edit its "Path to 9/11" movie to make it more Clinton-friendly. What a coward.

I nominate former president Jimmy Carter. His love of tyrants and anti-American rhetoric are absurd.

I nominate all the Muslims who are mad over the words of the Holy Father in the last couple of days.

You see, the Holy Father used some quotes and what not and ruffled some feathers in the Muslim world...

Essentially the Muslims say the Holy Father called them violent and war like and all...

So how does the Muslim world respond?

They riot, burn cars, shoot guns, burn pictures of the Holy Father and abuse the cross.

Now why would anyone ever get the idea that Muslims are a violent people?

I must have read your nomination criteria wrong. I was very interested in reading who was being nominated for the Just Shut Up Award, reading the reason for the nomination and most importantly a LINK to what caused it. Where do I find the LINK for each nomination?? Shouldn't a link be visible somewhere in the nomination?

You really expected us to follow the rules?

:-)

Ramona, is that you're way of saying that you're nominating, Jace, Larry, Trev, and I?

Joe, of course not! It was my way of saying..get with the program. After all, Jason was a bit specific, wasn't he? But now that you made the suggestion.. you give me food for thought. Should I use Jason's link?

Ray Nagin. It's taken 5 years for NYC to clean up the 'hole in the ground' and New Orleans will once again be the 'chocolate city' it was before Katrina. The fact that this man got re-elected solidifies my belief that the scariest thing in the world is ignorance in power. Hey Mayor, New Orleans wasn't even where Katrina made landfall and the are many places in Mississippi that took a much harder hit and HAVE begun major, in some cases complete, rebuilding. The difference is, they decided to do the work instead of waiting for other people to bail them out. Then again, Bush didn't blow out their levees, so I completely understand...
