Herald on District 4

There is an article in the Herald this morning about Reid Bowman and Gerry Adams and the exchange of ethics violations on each other.

Gerry Adams logic is incredibily stupid:

“It’s undeniable. (Bowman) is apart of the development community,” Adams said. “You have to have builders to have developers, and you have to have developers to have builders. That’s just the way it is.”
Without these people we don't have grocery stores, places to buy new school clothes or school supplies, government buildings, restaurants as well as many other things.

Just because you tell the lie often enough doesn't make it come true.

Is there literally anything these people talk about other than developers?

Sorry, I should clarify. I meant the candidates and not our good friends at JasonPye.com. Although, Jason clearly loves talking about people who love to talk about developers.

The anti-developer craze has been going on for years. It has become a political agenda item like civil rights, school vouchers and Roe v Wade.

The emotional hot button is losing steam among intelligent folk. The fact a guy makes his living at development does not mean he has grown horns.

It does, however, carry a long history of buying our home-grown politicians. Not yet have I seen a campaign disclosure form indicating a few thousand dollars that did not eventually net some favorable vote or action on the BoC. Hence, it remains a mainstay in campaign tactics.

Heckfire, look at thge ARC - stacked with developers telling the entire region what "smart growth" means. The Us vs Them mentality is pervasive!
