Bowman still hitting hard...

I've received the latest mailings from Reid Bowman's campaign.

Jason,

What do you think of Steve Davis' involvement in this race? I don't know the back story to all of this, so it may just be something personal that I don't know about. I just found it odd that a state legislator would lend his support to a county commission challenger.

Doug,

I can tell you that Steve Davis didn't want to get involved in this race. But he felt that Adams was lying and misrepresenting Reid Bowman, who we both feel is a good man.

Steve posted someting on his site about it, you can read that here.

Full disclosure on this...I had lobbied Steve to endorse Reid about three or four days before he ultimately did it. Steve told me no. He didn't want to get involved.

It was a day before Adams sent out his mailing that essentially lied about Reid. After Adams resorted to these tactics and dirty politics, he changed his mind.

You know, this is Henry County stuff and not really any of my concern (or interest). However, I spit coffee on my keyboard at the "Why is so-and-so lying about my Papa?" line in crayon font! Haha... I don't care what's going on or who the scumbag is, that's going into cheese-overdrive!

I agree with Perkins... reminds of of Harper's "Where are all the trees, Daddy?" The problem is that sound bites, meaningless as they are, stick in the collective public mind.

When Adams slams "a developer" who is not, or claims his own campaign is not financed "by developers" which it is, the comedy takes on its own life.

Real public service is at stake in county elections. Adams has proven by his votes where he stands - against Henry taxpayers. He has proven with his words that he cannot be trusted. These are campaign issue.

The mailers are like public school: reach the lowest common denominator and pray they vote.
