UPDATED: Birds of a feather...
Boss Hog Harper has sent out an endorsement letter for Gerry Adams. I'm waiting to get a copy of it. You can read it here. But it addresses the resolution on the commuter rail referendum that Adams, as well as Harper, voted against.
Mr. Harper, everyone knows that the referendum legislation has to be passed by the Georgia General Assembly. We are upset that you, Adams and Warren Holder chose not to support our chance to vote on such an entitlement project. The vote by the Henry BOC was used in a House subcommittee meeting as a reason for the legislation not to advance any further.
And...Mr. Harper, why don't you tell us what impact fees really are? They are nothing more than another tax on the consumer. Do you actually believe the builders pay those? They just recoup the expense in the price of the home. Impact fees hurt us, the consumers, not the builders and developers.
Harper also addresses the bar tab that Adams ran up at the Sheraton back in 2002. Harper claims it was for food. I never said what it was for other that what it says..."Bar" and across from that it lists the price as $92.30. You can read for yourself as shown below. I never said it was for alcohol. I let it speak for it's self.

What brings out the worst in politics is when politicians like Jason Harper and Gerry Adams constantly lie about the people that oppose them or their agenda.
[UPDATE] It seems that voters in different areas of the district received different letters from Jason Harper. A friend in one subdivision told me that in the post-script Harper writes something to the effect that Adams is working to widen Eagles Landing Parkway and his working to get a new sign for this particular neighborhood.
Hmmmm, vote buying much?
I'm waiting on a scanned copy of it. I'll it up the second I get it.
Here is another letter that was sent to the residents of a large Eagles Landing area neighborhood.
So, it seems like different areas of the district received different letters. If you live in the 4th District and you received on of these letters, please send it in if you have a scanner.

Bird Sh-- of a feather! You know that little white spec on top of bird poop... well, that is bird poop, too.
Harper is a consumate liar because he misrepresents himself and the actions of the BoC.
Harper says "Why should you and I pay for growth while developers profit?"
The real question is... Why was your $5,000 benefector AND Adams' $2,000 benefactor, Frank Potts, given $1,650,000 in our local tax dollars to build a road thru his own development at Kelly Plantation, and for purchase of landlocked "park land."
Harper says "Adams lobbied for federal funds - $1.65 million"
The facts are unclear, Mr. Harper. Coincidence? You tell me.
Harper says "Adams was selected as Vice-Chair."
Answer is....
The policy of the BoC is for members to take turns as Vice-Chair based on tenure.
Harper, maybe you better call Kay Pippin for a new line on this one....
Speaking of HB1033, it failed in a House committee BECAUSE the Henry BoC was divided and would not give clear direction to the legislative delegation.
Harper, we are not as stupid as you like to think. I must thank you for not attempting another run at local public office. We have had enough.

Is this an ethics violation for Jason Harper or for Gerry Adams?
The letter doesn't say who paid for it, and neither does the envelope.
That's an ethics violation for whomever paid for the letter.

Good point, Todd! Old Dog, Same Tricks. This is the exact same violation that Harper and Leland Maddox were found guilty of in the Chairman's campaign. You'd think the idiot would have learned something!

Come on guys - you know it was just another one of those technical defects...

It does seem odd that at different points the receipt says "Bar and Grill" and than just says "Bar."

Where is Andrew Headley when you really need him?
Posted by: unknown | August 6, 2006 02:32 PM
Did not the Hawk call a Congressman up asked for some help with federal funding and this is perhaps the 1.65 million that is being bantered around as Adams’ cunning ability to bring home the bacon?

The only reason that Harper is trying to help Adams out is because a) Adams couldnt run on what he has actually done because that is nothing and b) anyone who knows Bowman knows that he will put up with Harper and his BS about 1 second - he isnt a pushover and an idiot like Adams is and Harper wont ever be able to brainwash and manipulate Bowman like he has done or tried to do with everyone else - All I can figure is - those guys must really be worried that they might actually lose the tomato sandwich man

Tues Jan 3rd BOC minutes 1st - Harper says that the vice chair spot is rotational and its District IV's turn to be VC - he makes it sound in the letter like they all got together and voted- Harper is as big a liar as Adams is - yeah they voted on it - but look at the minutes of that meeting - it was District IV's turn - it wasnt because he was the most qualified- come on harper - come up with something better than that- especially when what really happened is in black and white on YOUR webpage -

Face it, if the best the guy could do is run up a $92 bar tab the guy has bad taste in booze.
Henry County deserves better!

Dee, You are obviously an informed citizen & voter. I always enjoy your comments. One thing though, "All I can figure is - those guys must really be worried that they might actually lose the tomato sandwich man"
"Those Guys" include Harper & Holder. The current voting bloc will dissolve with Bowman in the Dist 4 seat!
Now we must be watchful in the Dist 5 seat. I like Johnny B, but he is green and ready for "mentoring by the chairman." We must all stand by him to insure his success, and therefore the county's.

Thank you Mr. Stanley - I will take that as a compliment - You know - let me just tell you - I have learned quite abit about our little county - all from the BOC website - its all there in black and white and no matter what these guys try to pull over - its all there -I dont necessarily understand alot of it - and then there are those things that are just obvious like this little tidbit that I happened upon- I was reading over Gerry Adams financial disclosure - you know - one that he didnt fill out right (off the subject- I went down to probate court and looked at all of them - I dont think that he has filled one out right yet - thats a whole other story - anyway - I noticed a couple of things that I found interesting
1 - He got a $250.00 contribution form Suntrust Bank with the name of Raymond King out beside it - well - ok so its only $250.00 - but get this - the Chairman of the Metro Atlanta Arts Cultural Coalition is none other than Raymond King - yes folks - thats the same mr king that gave adams $250.00 - MAACC is the organization that our lovely county gave $200,000 to be on a list for three years (a side note on that - I have a good friend who works at the Capitol - she says that this organization had tried to get all the counties to join - so far - we were the first ones to bite) I just thought that it was interesting the connection
2) Gerry Harkins gave $500.00 to Adams- now - adams listed "UNKNOWN" beside Gerry Harkins name for occupation and employer - there again boys - GO TO THE BOC website - Mr. Harkins is Owner of Southern Pan Services - the same SPS that donated $10,000 labor and materials to the Veterans Wall at Heritage Park - How on earth did Adams miss that - other than the obvious - he is just a nitwit -But he can make a good tomato sandwich I would encourage everyone to JUST READ THE MINUTES ON THE BOC website - it gets really interesting
One other thing - I am really sick of hearing about how Adams only voted for 4 rezonings in District IV - what about the rest of the county? I guess that he figures that the people of Henry County are smart enough to realize that his votes count all over the county - and we wont even talk about the Sheraton bill - it speaks for itself -

Jason nor Gerry realize how many punches were pulled in the interest of being fair. Gerry wasn't fair or truthful in his mailers and started the negative hitting. THe punches Bowman threw are love pats compared to the ammo he has. County staff might support Adams but that is because it is bigger than ever and its members are in fear of more than losing good tomato sandwiches every now and then. They worry that a real Republican will hold each of them accountable. It's tough to get your ears blown back by the tone you set, and your eyes blackened by a fight you started. Had Gerry stuck with the issues it would have been better for all of us. Antideveloper is a great platform because it doesn't require a great strategist or someone with a brain to say"Feel the love: We hate builders and developers". You just gotta know how to say "Let's do lunch" and make a fine tomato sandwich.
