DC Metro Pork
Yesterday the House voted to grant another $1.5 billion subsidy to the DC Metro system...it only passed by one vote. The House need a 2/3 majority to get it through. The final vote was 242 - 120, with 70 not voting. Westmoreland, Gingrey and Norwood voted against passage of the taxpayer money giveaway. Kingston, Deal and Price did not vote.

Also, Red State has this interesting document from the Republican Study Committee on this legislation, which Red State describes as:
...not just an earmark—it is a likely tax increase on state and localities, a new federal program, an unfunded mandate, a corporate bailout, and a huge earmark, rolled into one.So...these commuter rail projects that they want to throw in Georgia, how are they any different from this waste?

Another $1.5 billion subsidy. In politics it is not waste, but providing needed services to a locality. The issue never includes the truth....
Run the list of former land owners, contractors, suppliers, etc. Then check out who & how the work was managed, how many consultants were hired. Follow the money all the way to the "buying votes" section of your local supermarket.
