Frequently Asked Questions

- Who are you?

I'm Jason Pye, a 29 year-old political junkie based out of Metro Atlanta.

When I'm not writing or podcasting, I spend my free-time hanging out with my wife, my dogs, watching sports, playing music or grilling out.

- Why do you do this?

Out of the interest of keeping my friends informed, it also helps me get things off my chest. I try to be reasoned about issues, though I admit that I have my biases.

The goal of this site is to present local, state and national news from a libertarian perspective and provide a forum for discussion for readers, provided comments are on topic and respectful (see comment policy).

- How do you describe your political beliefs?

As far as political ideology, I am a libertarian, which means that I believe in personal sovereignty and free markets. To be simplistic, you could say that I am "conservative" on fiscal issues and "liberal" on social issues.

I've worked with the Libertarian Party of Georgia and served as a member of the Executive Committee, Legislative Director and Chairman. I also worked with the Republican Liberty Caucus for a brief time. However, these days I consider myself an independent voter.

- How do I submit a news tip?

All news tips can be sent to news@jasonpye.com.

- Do you do any work for candidates?

I have done some consulting work as an independent contractor.

I worked for Bob Barr 2008 as the campaign's blogger and I am currently working for John Monds in his campaign for Governor of Georgia.

Any payments to me can be found by searching through the databases at either the State Ethics Commission or the Federal Election Commission.

Any advertisements are purchased by campaigns or organizations are not based upon my support or opposition of any particular candidate. For more information on advertising, please send an e-mail to jason@jasonpye.com.

- Are you available for campaign work?

I am available for campaign work through Forward Focus Media. Rates depend on the type of project and time involved.

- Do you donate to any candidates or organizations that may pose a conflict-of-interest?

I have donated to a few candidates, but under the minimum amount required for disclosure by law ($101 for Georgia, $250 for federal).

I am a monthly pledger to AntiWar.com and the Advocates for Self-Government.

- Do you write anywhere else?

In June of 2009, I was hired to be the Editor of United Liberty, a website dedicated to free markets and less government.

You can also catch me at Peach Pundit, Georgia's most well known political blog, and Georgia Legislative Watch, a blog dedicated to the sessions of the Georgia General Assembly.

I have also posted in the past at The Liberty Papers and QandO, though my contributions at these great blogs have decreased due to my involvement with United Liberty.

I have also written commentary for the Georgia Public Policy Foundation which been reprinted in some newspapers around the state.
