ARC and the Rail

The Atlanta Regional Commission, the people that brought you the Livable Centers Initative (which is what's at work Stockbridge), is planning on taking a stance on State Rep. John Lunsford's referendum on the proposed commuter rail.
I don't support the referendum just because of the possibility that voters may actually approve the rail. However, I'm against the government paying for a railine that will prove to be nothing more than a waste of taxpayer money. If there is a market for a rail, why hasn't a private company stepped in and offered to pay for it? The same thing with the GRTA bus service.
Government can't provide everything. This is project will bankrupt local governments. As BJ Mathis said this is a luxury item that Henry County cannot afford.
Thanks to Roy Barnes for giving us another bureaucracy that just wants to waste our money and take our land. I would like nothing more than to see the ARC be dissolved. If am I ever elected to office, this will be one of my top of my priorities.
