All good things must come to an end…

After writing this blog for the last seven years, I’ve decided to shut it down. Since 2008, I’ve been working various side jobs, all of which deal with writing in some capacity. This blog gave me an outlet for several years, but, as I’ve frequently said on several occasions, I’m too busy to keep it updated on a regular basis.

I have a wife, a day job, and two part-time jobs to keep happy. I haven’t even had time to mention the write up I did on Gov. Gary Johnson’s campaign for Liberty or the piece I recently wrote for The Daily Caller on Tom Morello.

And while time is the biggest factor, I haven’t been able to find a voice for this blog for the last couple of years. United Liberty is where been I’ve writing about national politics and the libertarian movement for the last three-plus years. If something going on in Georgia politics catches my eye, I have Peach Pundit for an outlet.

This blog served as the starting point for several opportunities, but it’s time to move on. You can still catch my rants at United Liberty and Peach Pundit. I’ve also started a Tumblr, where I’ll occasionally post pictures or promote stories. You can also continue to follow me at @jaseliberty on Twitter or on Facebook.

I haven’t decided if I’ll eventually take this thing down, aggregate posts from other sites where I contribute or just not update it anymore. But whatever I eventually decide, thanks for those of you that stopped by this blog for the last seven years. It was fun, but more great things are ahead. Stay tuned.

  1. An end of an era, my friend. So many great memories, write-ups, and spirited debates on this blog over the last seven years. In particular, I think back to the 2006 election season and the 2008 POTUS primary season as highlights (especially Danny and I giving you so much hell over Ron Paul). I’ve made a lot of trips to this blog over the years I’m sad to see it go. I do, however, totally understand why you’re shutting it down.

Sorry I wasn’t able to help out more the last few months but I ran into a lot of the same time constraints as you did (including UL). It was a great run, Jason. And a very good blog. I’m actually working on a write-up about this on my East Metro blog. I’ll twitter you the link when I get it up.

  2. Jason my friend, your blog brought a lot of changes to Henry County my friend by giving the people a voice to speak their mind. I want to thank you for letting not only myself but everyone else speak on your blog. Jason, you have grown and matured greatly over that seven years and I have watched a young spirited gentleman grow into a very busy and good man with a wife and further growth in his writing world. You are and will always be my friend and that is a very important thing in my life. You helped this old man when someone stole his van by getting the word out from Alfred Britt my cousin who spearheaded the effort to help me. With that aid it only took four weeks to find another van to carry me and my wheelchair. These are things that I will never forget. And to you sir I say congratulations in stepping up with your life and may all your efforts coming forward bring you and Amanda all the happiness that you seek. Take care and I am always there.

  3. I personally want to thank you for being the very one who introduced me to the world of blogging and the Henry County political arena…. Wish you all the best in your future undertaking I know it will be rewarding….

  4. Thanks for the time and effort that you put into this. Yours was the first blog site that I started reading daily. It led me to Peach Pundit and United Liberty. I know you will continue to do good work.
