Update on Tara Field

Joanie Scott has put out some excellent work on Tara Field, an issue in Henry County made even more interest by the recent arrest of Billy Abbate for an incredibly disturbing crime (he also has a warrant out for his arrest in Virginia). Abbate wanted to turn hangers at the air field into a movie studio.

Scott has put together more information on how the Henry County government, most notably Commission Chair B.J. Mathis, worked in collusion with Abbate to purchase Tara Field for him; essentially cronyism at its worst.

If a credible challenger comes forward to run against Mathis in 2012, her days may well be numbered.
