Majority of Georgia’s House delegation voted to end operations in Libya

While putting together a post on the resolution approved by the House of Representatives on at the end of last week that bars the use of ground forces in Libya, I noticed that several members from Georgia voted for a separate resolution that would have effectively forced President Barack Obama to withdraw from our involvement in NATO-sponsored military action against the country.

Here is how our delegation voted on the resolution.

Yea:

  • Paul Broun (R)
  • Tom Graves (R)
  • Jack Kingston (R)
  • John Lewis (D)
  • Tom Price (R)
  • Austin Scott (R)
  • Rob Woodall (R)
  • Lynn Westmoreland (R)

Nay:

  • John Barrow (D)
  • Sanford Bishop (D)
  • Phil Gingrey (R)
  • Hank Johnson (D)
  • David Scott (D)

Admittedly, I’m shocked to see Johnson’s name here considering that he opposed military operations in Iraq. I’m also surprised to see some of the other names that voted for the resolution; namely Kingston, Austin Scott and Westmoreland.
